BACKGROUND

Due to organizational needs, there is a requirement for SAP Project Manager to provide Project Management for VWGoA Spare Parts Systems projects some of them are listed below:

SAP Instance split (Currently VW Group of America and VW Mexico share one instance of SAP SCM solution the project initiative is to create separate SAP SCM solution instances for VW Group of America and VW Mexico)
Upgrade SAP Business Warehouse solution from 3.0b to 7.3 and integrate with Business Objects

From current to Dec, 2012 with potential to extend

POSITION PURPOSE

Under the general direction, a Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Manages the activities related to the design, specification, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of assigned projects. The Project Manager takes projects from its inception thru deployment. This position interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including business users, IT and functional management. A Projects Managers main goal is to successfully and effectively organize and execute applications development projects in order to provide necessary business solutions. The Project Managers role on projects is to: analyzes, designs, plans, organizes and coordinates assigned applications to include feasibility, package review, time/cost estimates, project planning, business specifications, program coding, testing, system documentation and implementation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

1. Project Management
Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of each project and manage project scope.
Review and approve deliverables prepared by team
Effectively apply SEP methodology and enforce VWGoA project standards.
Prepare for PQRP reviews and other quality assurance procedures.
Minimize VWGoA exposure to risk on the projects.
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

2. Project Accounting
Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Manage the project budget for each project.
Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, and monitor payables for each project.

3. Financial Management
Understand cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly.
Assure project documents are completed and signed per VWGoA standards.

4. Communication
Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
Hold regular status meetings with project team.
Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
Effectively communicate relevant project information to VWGoA management.
Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

5. Technical Understanding
Possess general understanding in the areas of SAP applications, database and system design.
Understand Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.

6. Leadership
Manage the development of team by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each Innovator's career interests.
Inspire coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
Manage the process of innovative change effectively.
Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices.

7. Teamwork

9. Internal Operations
Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
Lead internal teams/task forces
Track team members' time and expense reports in a conscientious and timely manner.
Review the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
Comply with and help enforce VWGoA standard policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience
Experience in SAP projects with full-life cycle (analysis, design and or package review, development, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and production support) development experience.
Experience delivering SAP projects (Must have at least 3 years experience implementing SAP projects in the last 5 years)
Experience with Business Warehouse upgrade and SAP Instance split projects is a plus
Knowledge of SAP applications (prior SAP functional experience is a plus)
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management methodologies and techniques. Demonstrated past experience with Project Tracking tools, ie, Planview, Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SDLC methodologies. Good understanding of and ability to apply the principles of software design, operational characteristics of systems, networking and testing.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
Goal oriented and able to work independently (with minimal supervision) and ability to work cooperatively with peers in order to share and enhance technical and project management knowledge.
Proven track record of managing and implementing complex technical projects in cross-functional team environment.
Experience assembling comprehensive software development estimates and budgets.
Experience working with business clients and ability to establish and maintain effective business partnership with internal customers in order to fully understand the business requirements and to manage internal client expectations.
Strong Leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment.
Possible travel required.
