Research Officer-London-6 months+ £250+

Large government organisation are looking for an experienced research officer to promote the value of research and to lead in the development and the delivery of a programme of research projects designed to support, and inform, the work of this central government organisation and the wider Criminal Justice System (CJS)

Accountability's
To set clear and achievable milestones for the delivery of research, monitoring progress against them and taking corrective action where necessary
To be skilled in applying project management disciplines to manage research that uses appropriate resources and is delivered on time and within budget
To be fully accountable for the delivery of research to agreed quality standards
To identify the Directorate customers, establish their needs, and ensure their requirements are negotiated and agreed
To consider and manage stakeholders' expectations, keeping them up to date with progress

Specialist Knowledge and Experience

  • Established track record in designing, conducting or managing social research
  • Highly skilled in delivering research projects employing the full range of research methodologies.
  • Ability to translate unfocused ideas and requests into appropriate research designs.
  • Sound understanding of the criminal justice system and its processes and structures.
  • Ability to demonstrate and promote the value of research in supporting evidence-based decisions.
  • Experienced in providing and supervising briefings based on analytical work and research evidence.
