My client is looking for a mid-level Wintel Systems Engineer to be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance and integrity of the server infrastructure environment. This encompasses technologies such as Server Hardware and Operating Systems (SOE development), Directory Services, File Hosting, Remote Access, and Storage.

You will have the following responsibilities.

• Provide Level 2/3 Incident support for all matters relating to the Wintel server infrastructure
• Offer expertise focused on ensuring all Wintel hardware and O/S system requirements are maintained pro-actively within the environment
• Work onsite with the clients up to 3days p/week
• Assist in providing consulting, design and implementation advice for approved business projects.
• Assist in offering expertise relating to architectural roadmaps and plans for each Infrastructure service within a Wintel environment.

Essential criteria:

• Linux experience - Redhat, Ubuntu etc.
• Exposure to large enterprise level server environments
• A solid technical background (minimum 5 years) in Microsoft Technologies
• Exposure to Windows 2003, 2008 technologies, AD, Server, Exchange, IIS
• Must have own transport and excellent time management skills
