DESCRIPTION
The Research Associate Scientist will work in a protein engineering department to support on-going research and development efforts and further contribute to the discovery of biological medicines for all therapeutic areas. Will be primarily responsible for the quality control of DNA used in generating human antibody libraries based on state of the art technologies. Should have a solid theoretical and experimental background in molecular biology, meticulous bench-work, and record-keeping and be able to apply technical expertise to antibody discovery programs.

Qualifications
  • BS with a minimum of 1-5 years of laboratory research experience in academia or industry.
  • Working knowledge of DNA cloning including PCR, restriction enzyme digestions, ligations and agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Ability to handle multiple samples in parallel while following detailed scientific protocols with meticulous scientific record keeping is required.
  • Must be highly motivated, demonstrate productivity in a dynamic and collaborative environment, thrive within a team, be able to communicate scientific information effectively.
  • Previous experience in quality control, especially as it pertains to DNA or oligonucleotides is a plus.
  • Antibody Library Construction and Antibody Selection Characterization knowledge required.
  • Micro-Pipeting skills desired.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) desired.
  • Data Validation skills desired.
  • Protein Biochemistry experience a plus.
