A new role for an Environmental Support Analyst within a long-established, global financial services company is now being offered on a contractual basis. The role would be ideally suited to someone from an infrastructure support or production DBA background. Sydney CBD location.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance and support of the Environment Administrator you will assist with configuration and migration of in-house and vendor developed software to all non-production environments. This will involve building and refreshing development, testing and UAT environments, troubleshooting environmental issues while adhering to quality assurance processes and standards (designed to limit such isses).

Additional responsibilities will include:-
1. Monitoring non-production environments
2. Troubleshooting technical issues
3. Review and implementation of project changes
4. Contributing to system design/architecture discussions
5. Automating the environment refresh/rebuild process
6. Conducting security reviews for the non - production environments and change releases

The split of responsibilities will be 40% environemnt support, 30% build support, 20% quality assurance and the remaining 10% split between adherence to change management best practices and other tasks.

The working hours will be a regular eight hour shift with little or no overtime. As the infrastructure is managed by a different team you will not be required to set up or configure databases.

Key Skills and Requirements

To successfully perform the functions of the role you should have the following skills and experience:-

* Good theoretical understanding of the software development life cycle.
* Attention to detail
* Excellent communication and self-management skills
* Strong analysis skills
* Strong delivery focus
* A proactive self-starter.

and experience with at least two of the following:

* SQL
* Windows
* VB.NET/C#.Net
* SOE (and locked down policies)
* Ability to develop strong relationships across the IT team and within BNP Paribas Securities Services

It would be preferred if you have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, knowledge of SSRS, Biztalk, pControl or HiPort.
