Description

Pposition Description:

Thoroughly test software applications in a highly complex Unix client/server environment. The position will require the candidate to participate in the design, testing, and verification of Unix Host and Web server applications. The QA Engineer will also be responsible for writing test plans, documenting bugs, and communicating with Development, Operations, and Product Management. This position may also require some programming, specifically Unix Shell and TCL scripting. Experience Level: 10+ Years. Skill Set: Must be fluent in Unix and Windows environments and have strong software testing experience. Must be familiar with QA test and bug reporting concepts.


Top 3-5 required skills: Proficiency in UNIX command navigation, script writing; SOA services (testing) skills; environment analysis; troubleshooting; testing practices; Quality Center proficiency;

Nice to have skills:

Testing automation; (endpoint) virtualization for testing; iTKO LISA proficiency; QTP proficiency, HL7


Top 3-5 daily responsibilities: Develop test plans/test cases; analyze logs for errors; actively troubleshoot on bridge lines; participate in go-live activities; deployment of code prior to testing

Type of background: technical background; code development; middle tier knowledge/experience

Soft skills: clear, concise, but descriptive communication skills; team orientation; ability to mentor/knowledge transfer well.

Size of the team: Currently 11 team members split between NCal and SCal
