Our client is a AAA games studio looking for an experienced Games Designer for an initial 3 month contract.

Examples of work MUST be provided.
The role of a Game Designer will be focused on creating and writing detailed game design mechanics that are fun and innovative and guide those features through the development process. Game Designers are expected to bring their creative skills to bear in a wide range of situations, always with raising the quality of the title they're working on. Living up to the exacting standards expected of an internal Microsoft team is both a challenge and a responsibility and we're looking for individuals that have something unique to bring to this studio.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Games Designer you will be responsible for guiding game features and game activities from concept to final product. This includes being able to generate design documentation, break down the documentation into specific elements and work with the art and code teams to implement and tune those elements into polished gameplay experiences.

SKILLS:
Demonstrable ability to design detailed game mechanics from inception to completion
Work as part of a team, including artists and programmers to fine tune these game mechanics
Understanding of games production pipelines and processes
Diligence and attention to detail: Passion for console and PC games and good gameplay instincts

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years in the games industry on a console project or an innovative mobile or handheld game
Familiarity with basic Scripting or programming languages such as LUA, Kismet or XML
Familiarity with 3D modelling or level building software such as Maya, Max, Skethcup or UnrealEd.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
