How about joining the biggest bathroom supplier in the UK?

Our client is a dynamic, exciting and passionate business and their commitment to delivering exceptional products and extraordinary levels of customer service has helped them rocket to the top of the UK bathroom market. Being the best means having the best people - that's why they continually invest in training and development to ensure everyone who works for them really is the cream of the crop.

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an Interim Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join them on a 2 year contract. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing new and existing suppliers, enabling them to satisfy the company's Quality requirements.

Whilst driving continuous improvements, you will work with project teams to ensure that purchased parts are sufficiently defined and manufactured in line with company requirements. Taking responsibility for the management of the successful re-sourcing of current products, or the process approval of new products, you must facilitate regular communication between manufacturing plants and suppliers; resolving supplier quality related issues when required.

You must manage the quality interaction with assigned suppliers, including the assessment of a given supplier's quality systems and capabilities, supplier selection and traditional quality assurance activities such as corrective action, containment and process approval. There is a requirement for you to visit suppliers overseas as well as in the UK and attend meetings to ensure there is a common understanding.

The successful applicant will possess a technical degree or equivalent or have job/industry related experience within a Supplier Quality function and of working with overseas suppliers and subcontractors. With proven experience of using quality tools, you will have product and process knowledge of Machining, Castings, Plastic Injection Mouldings, Assembly and Stampings. Furthermore, you will also have knowledge and auditing experience to ISO9001:2000 standards. Additional language skills would also be beneficial.

Normal hours of work are Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, however a flexible approach to working hours is essential to allow for time differences with our Far East suppliers.

Our client is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
