About the Company/Position:
The Storage Architect performs solution design tasks to define build, implementation and systems integration in regards to the Storage Infrastructure. A significant amount of this will involve a large Data centre project. The Storage Architect will be required to liaise with the business to translate their requirements into technology as well as working closely with the Architect, Project and Engineering teams. The position will involve primarily architecture work, with an emphasis on managed Server/Storage technologies as well as backup infrastructure, with an overall responsibility of ensuring end to end Server/Storage provisioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Storage design, configuration, build, testing and implementation
  • Backup and recovery migration projects
  • Responsible for production of the Storage Detailed Design, Bill of Materials and other complex migration plans
  • Detailed design for overall server solutions (disk/tape/switch infrastructure and capacity planning) for major application roll outs.
  • Oversee the build, test, and installation of the Server infrastructure
  • Assist customer with developing enterprise strategy and architecture

Required Skills:

  • Excellent documentation skills, especially at the detailed level
  • Ability to drive storage technology standards through combination of leadership and technical skills.
  • Ability to articulate Storage solutions from enterprise level down to critical levels of detailed implementations and data migrations
  • Detailed knowledge and experience designing enterprise SAN environment
  • Strong knowledge of Brocade DCX, IBM DS rage, NetApp; N-series
  • Strong understanding of other Server and network technologies
  • Experience in enterprise SAN (Brocade, McData, IBMSVC, NetAPP)
