Asset Management Data Modeller

Targeted Skills & Competencies:
The Asset Management IT team that supports Sales and Distribution is launching a 2 year roadmap to build a distribution data hub. The team has a position for an experienced data modeller to own and manage the conceptual and logical data models for the project. The successful candidate will have strong modelling skills and the ability to facilitate modelling sessions with domain subject matter experts.

Own and manage the conceptual and logical data models for the Asset Management Data Distribution Hub
Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Modeling Architect
Collaborate closely with business analysts and data subject matter experts to ensure the Asset Management Data Distribution Hub data model will properly support business needs.
Collaborate closely with other solution architects to define and implement effective and efficient solutions to business challenges and opportunities.
Collaborate closely with Enterprise Data Architecture to ensure alignment of modelling standards and guidelines
Work closely with database administration to establish and maintain highly resilient, scalable and high performance architecture as the model is implemented physically on the target platform(s).
Establish and own the data dictionary, data repository and data governance/stewardship of the data model for the Asset Management Data Distribution Hub

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor of science in Computer Science, CIS/MIS or equivalent degree from an accredited four year institution.
5 years of experience with Datamodelling (conceptual, logical and physical model design)
Experience using model management tools.
Knowledge of application modelling languages/techniques (eg UML, OML, entity relationship modelling, DFDs) including the ability to create and read the associated diagrams.
Experience with Investment data domains such as securities, holdings, performance, attribution, benchmarks
Working knowledge of IBM's Banking and Financial Datawarehouse Industry Models is preferred
Extensive experience modelling data requirements based on complex business needs across multiple information domains with an emphasis on mapping to established industry models. Solid experience with RDBMS platforms including Oracle
Expert skills in normalization and 3NF structures supporting enterprise warehouses and a solid understanding of dimensional modelling.
A proven ability to develop data models with proper atomic level granularity and time variant constructs to ensure the enterprise data assets are captured, stored, maintained and aged appropriately
Strong working knowledge of ERwin Data Modeler and/or IBM Rational Data Architect.
Experience with IBM Metadata Server.
Familiarity with performance tuning techniques in both the Teradata and Oracle environments such as partitioning, conditional RI, Bitmap indexes, Mviews, CUBEs, Dimension and fact definitions as well other de-normalization techniques.
