Job Description
The Contracts Analyst will be responsible for supporting and maintaining assigned contracts, to include assisting in contract negotiations for system software, hardware and service contracts. They will be responsible for monitoring RFPs, SLAs and other aspects of contracts for the IT department. They will also conduct research and analysis on vendors and will establish metrics. The analyst will write RFP's, evaluate agreements and develop plans, estimates and budgets in support of contract negotiation. They will be responsible for supporting the contract life cycle management process along with Sourcing, Legal, and Purchasing, including contract routing, contract tracking, contract submission, etc. They will provide communication and status updates regarding contracts. They will support IT contract needs within the IT organization. They will support the purchasing process stemming from contractual commitments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
* Manage contract signatures and placement in the IT Contract File, providing executed copies back to the vendor once signed.
* Executing the purchasing against contractual commitments
* Ensure proper vendor invoicing, budget analysis and reporting.
* Ensure contract compliance once executed.
* Review and provide feedback on contracts, ensuring standard terms are included, robust and clear (ie termination, resources, SLAs, schedules) as well as ensuring completeness and clarity of the contract terms overall.
* Review contract spend with the Business Support Team Analyst to maintain accuracy of budgets and forecasts, as well as assure funding approvals are achieved prior to contract execution.
* Create and publish monthly scorecard of contract related metrics and vendor performance against them for IT Leadership visibility.
* Seek potential for the synergies between multiple vendor services and also for renegotiation opportunities.
* Provide consistent follow-up on all contracts under review. Ensure that contract reviews are actively managed with the associated IT Manager, Legal, and Vendor. Track dates and location of contracts as they proceed through their workflow.
* Ensure that the actual work being executed corresponds to the SOWs and agreements.
* Prepare and present reports of supplier activity and performance. Monitor contractually established SLAs to determine vendor performance.
* Provide analysis and summary of service level credits and penalties for Service Delivery review and handling. Review monthly vendor operational and financial reports to create input for vendor balanced scorecards.
* Communicate rates and/or pricing as needed to appropriate IT audiences.
* Stay abreast of market conditions and pricing
* Create various ad-hoc and routine reports as required.
* Other contract duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
* Skilled and demonstrated success in vendor relations and negotiation as well as experience reviewing various types of contracts (eg master terms, addenda, change orders, renewals, maintenance).
* Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to understand, raise, and mitigate risk through negotiation and inclusion of contract terms.
* Knowledge and experience with IT contracts related to software purchases, hardware purchases, managed services, and/or professional services.
* Experience working in a multi-vendor environment providing IT services.
* Must have a strong background in developing and maintaining metrics to quantify various processes and staff effectiveness.
* Experience with benchmarking/scorecards and reporting a strong plus.

Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 4 years experience in contract administration in IT.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment strongly preferred.
* Minimum 2 years experience in contract negotiations
* Good judgment and analytical skills; strong follow-up and organizational skills.
* Ability and judgment necessary to make independent actions and decisions.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills written, verbal, interpersonal. Consistent & frequent follow-up and follow-through.
* Contract definition and negotiation, including SLA's, ongoing monitoring, financial structuring, termination considerations, etc
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including fluency with Excel spreadsheets.
* A working knowledge of legal aspects of contracting and the ability to understand contract language and identify/communicate any risks or liabilities.
* Must have strong negotiation and financial skills.
* Flexible in responding to job demands and changing priorities.
