Our client, a global telecoms company, requires a Finance Manager to take up an initial 3 month contract role in London, serving major international banks and financial institutions. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role holder will manage the monthly and quarterly reporting (profit and loss and balance sheets) and Business Unit Operating Review; and lead on the global consolidation and coordination of financial and non-financial results; and support the development and delivery of the quarterly business and financial plans. You will be responsible for the deployment of best practise in financial controls and business reporting, providing financial leadership to translate strategy into practical solutions and day-to-day working practices. You will have special responsibility for the improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting for one or more business areas. Key responsibilities include: To be actively involved in discussions relating to business and strategic planning from the perspective of the area within which the role holder works: Planning, Budgeting, Reporting, Analysis, Appraisal, Regulatory, Processes, Management Control, Internal Control, Finance Systems. To be an expert in one of the preceding work areas. Responsibilities may include complex modelling/data manipulation and or data interpretation. To ensure internal customers are supplied with adequate and accurate financial information a timely basis. To develop appropriate financial and operating procedures to improve the operational efficiency of the business unit where necessary. The role holder provides support to Global Banking and Financial Markets, and has responsibility for: a) Global management reporting and financial control, b) Global business planning, reporting and analysis, c) Global P and L and Working Capital and Risks and Opportunities consolidation, reporting and analysis - month-end, operations review quarter-end, d) Coordination and loading of the global forecast and budget. Responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of day-to-day operations, records or processes to the required standards.
Skills and experience required:
Typically partly or fully qualified accountant. Strong commercial experience gained from substantial exposure in a commercial finance manager level role. Applicants must be proficient in the use of Hyperion. The daily rate of pay is negotiable depending upon experience.
