Senior Accountant - Treasury Financial Reporting & Control
Working within the Group Centre Finance 'Treasury Financial Reporting and Control Team', the purpose of this role is to support financial reporting activities with some project involvement. The team provides finance support to Capital Issuance and Capital Management teams and pan Treasury Financial Reporting. Key Accountabilities:
Management, Financial & Statutory Reporting (80%)
* Monthly and ad hoc activities to account for report and forecast the results of capital issuance and capital management activities.
* Controls and Governance work to support Treasury and Finance activities;
* Treasury Consultancy and Business Support reporting for Treasury new transactions and Group-wide projects
* Act for business/unit customers providing expert help and guidance on a wide range of complex and difficult subjects. There is the need to apply good technical knowledge, use their experience, understand the potential impact of decisions on other areas and interpret requirements.
Project support (20%)
* Support of outsourcing specific pieces of work. Including documentation, analysis, training and handover to offshore resourcing.
* The area has a regular amount of small project work requiring strong time management skills to deliver this alongside regular monthly reporting workload. This could include development, responsibility for specific areas, new process definition and documentation.
* Undertake other ad hoc project work as required
* Input to change agenda and continuous process improvement;
Experience and qualifications - Essential
* Professionally qualified accountant with relevant post qualified experience. IFRS knowledge.
* Strong financial control background.
* Ability to learn quickly and to drive change
* Strong Excel and use of a Financial Accounting System
* Understanding and interest in Financial Services
* Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial analysis to non financial or senior people
* Strong team work ethic
Knowledge and Expertise - Preferred
* Knowledge of SAP or Hyperion or an ability to acquire skills quickly to interrogate systems
Technical and Personal Skills
* Financial & management accounting experience
* Customer Relationship Management & Partnership Management
* Experience of project management and delivery
* Ability and willingness to take initiative
* Good analytical and problem solving capabilities
* Good presentation & communication skills
* The ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
