Our client in Englewood, CO is looking to add a Software Test Engineer to their team for a 6-month contract with possible extension.

These positions are with a leader in navigational information, operations management solutions and flight training products and services. Their offices are located in the Inverness area.

Essential Functions:
Functionally test application software for several products and solutions including Dispatch and Planning products and Interface applications.
Responsible for solution testing flight planning and dispatch application Servers and clients.
Responsible for developing manual test cases in HP Quality Center and executing tests according to commercial and military aviation software test processes and procedures.
Responsible for Interface Control Document (ICD), message XML/XSD verification via message development and testing.
Responsible for performing analysis of requirements, writing requirements verification points and providing feedback on requirement testability.
Responsible for having a thorough understanding of the projects test environment(s) and the projects policies for working in the test environment(s).
Responsible for installing and upgrading test environments (hardware and software) including in-house applications and 3rd party applications.
Responsible for working with development teams, system engineering and customers in combined integration test efforts.
Responsible for entering defect reports in the projects approved defect tracking system.
Responsible for providing information as requested in a timely manner.
Support and follows software development methodologies and life cycle.
Support and follows software development standards and procedures.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficient in writing test plans with the HP-Mercury Quality Center
Knowledge and experience working in a iterative test process
Knowledge in at least one of the following areas: test planning, product verification, product validation; aviation data capture, translation and use in aviation data products such as charts or navdata; implementation phases of development methodology and life cycle; MS Office tools; HPUX, Linux, Windows, Oracle, MySQL, Unix, Scripting and problem-solving.
Coursework in Engineering is desirable.
