Team Overview
Multi Asset comprises Multi Asset, LDI and Structured Investment Teams within Investment. The FMAs are responsible for updating fund manager models, implementing trades and a range of other ad hoc processes. They are a vital part of the Multi Asset Investment Team and have a great deal of responsibility.

Overview of role
The Multi Asset FMA Team supports the Multi Asset Fund Managers on their increasingly complex and varied range of portfolios.

Whilst relevant experience and qualifications would be advantageous, the qualities and skills of the applicant are most important. The successful applicant will be given a real opportunity to get an overview of Multi Asset. They will receive a lot of training from different members of the team and have the opportunity to learn an enormous amount about our business and Schroders as a whole. In return they will need to be fully committed to the role.

Duties include:
Maintaining models, calculating and placing orders
Managing cash flows on daily priced funds
Monitoring portfolios and bringing outliers to the attention of FM's
Instructing internal desks to place orders on asset allocation changes
Placing overlay trades on portfolios using futures and swaps
Calculating and managing FX forwards
Managing non standard processes
Management of cash balances
Calculating and placing all pooled fund trades
Managing the Property Book and dealing in property unit trusts
Providing order execution information to Fund Managers
Responsible for the set up of third party funds
Assisting with data set-up and data maintenance within the new asset allocation system
Liaising with various departments to resolve queries and ensure the smooth running and efficient management of portfolios
Involved in new portfolio take on and launch

Excellent Excel skills a necessity with strong Bloomberg and Factset skills an advantage

Useful Experience
Experience working for an asset management company, with good knowledge of how the different departments in an asset management company operate. Good understanding of the mechanics and dynamics of the markets and of dealing. Familiarity with operational procedures, especially with respect to dealing in unit trusts and mutual funds. Knowledge of Derivative and OTC operations an advantage. Experience in order calculation and model implementation and ideally the Charles River Trading System or another order management system.

Education to degree level
Relevant investment qualifications eg IMC, CFA level one
