DESCRIPTION
The Safety and Environmental Engineering Coordinator will provide direction and advice in the implementation of Safety and Environmental (S&E) programs and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate expertise in supporting the Transmission S&E Management team.
  • Provide S&E support for capital construction projects and maintenance activities.
  • Recommend new or improved policies, practices and programs related to system S&E services.
  • Provide safety advice and assistance to organizational units of the Transmission Group.
  • Represent the Transmission Group on S&E incident and root cause evaluations.
  • Review proposed construction methods, practices, and projects for conformance with accepted S&E standards.
  • Recommend, coordinate, and review with functional management employee educational programs on S&E topics.
  • Present educational programs and information to employees and the public.
  • Promote teamwork among and between all members in his/her jurisdiction and other internal groups.
Qualifications
  • BA degree in related area (Safety or Environmental)
  • 5 years direct experience and working knowledge of power system operations
  • Ability to accurately interpret standards and technical data required
  • Ability to plan, design, develop, and coordinate effective programs and methods in S&E areas
  • Needs knowledge of MADEP inland wetlands, water quality, & endangered species requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation and will be reimbursed for mileage
  • DMV/Driving Record Report required as part of the BG Check

SKILLS
5 years direct experience, and working knowledge of power system operations, accurately interpret standards and technical data required. Ability to plan, design, develop, and coordinate effective programs and methods in S&E areas. Needs to be knowledgeable of MADEP inland wetlands, water quality & endangered species requirements.
