Description
Position: SAS Data Analyst
Role: This intermediate level position is responsible to prepare business specific analysis by conducting research, identifying trends, and applying problem solving techniques.
Required Skills:
SAS (Data Extraction),SQL, Excel
Required Experience:
* Must must have data extraction experience using SAS.
* Must have experience writing SAS programs, where they have pulled data from relational databases such as SQL Server and/or DB2.
* Must have experience extracting data from SAS, they must also have SQL/DB2 experience
* Excel experience is highly preferred, including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets. Knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts and graphing.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities:
* Participates in the development of business policies, conducts special financial and business related studies and partners with other departments in the preparation of analysis.
* Meets with management, peers, and other department managers to discuss analysis needs.
* Retrieves data from various sources and prepares data for analysis.
* Verifies accuracy of data pulled and revises methods of data retrieval by following a standard process.
* Develops queries against various data and computer sources.
* Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed by analyzing situations and/or data from which answers can be obtained.
* Prepares forecasts, identifies and analyzes trends.
* Recommends process improvements and/or goal changes.
* Develops and creates basic level programs using SAS and/or SQL.
* Develops and designs presentations to review analysis findings and discusses recommendations for next steps.
* May attend management meeting to present material.
* May solicit feedback after the presentation.
* Serves as contact for reporting needs/issues regarding various data.
* Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
