Description
Our client, a leading Investment Management house, have a vacancy for an experienced buy-side Senior Project Manager.
The business run a large number of projects of varying sizes at any one time. These can be business only projects, technology projects but typically will be a mixture of both. They also work on a number of smaller initiatives.
They have a team of between 5 and 10 Project Managers at any one time, who are allocated work based on priorities, skills and availability. The team reports into our Head of Projects, who line manages our Project Managers, and who oversees project progress, planning and reporting.
These Project Managers work very closely with our business staff, with our Business Analysts, with our other projects and technology staff, and with the wider technology and vendor staff.
They are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to actively manage projects. This may involve one or many projects at any one time.
Responsibilities
- Project manage projects, both technology and business related, using internal standards and processes. This includes all aspects of project financial management
- Provide consultancy to projects and business departments in matters relating to process, procedure and task management of their project tasks and resources
- Actively communicate with project manager peers in the company to help develop project processes and procedures, and participate in appropriate forums to help address this responsibility
- Help develop existing project staff to improve their knowledge, capabilities, through direct communication as well as participation in training efforts, course specification, training delivery and so on
- Provide regular reporting to project stakeholders and management
- Task management of staff allocated to projects and initiatives
- Management/reporting of financials associated with projects being worked on
- Travelling as required to other sites from time to time, as project demands dictate
