Role

The primary purpose of the position is to manage the assigned Digital projects to deliver within agreed time, cost and quality so that the stated business benefits are realised. To ensure that the projects undertaken provide the best possible business benefit to the business.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver the approved project scope to the agreed time, cost and quality parameters;
  • Schedule time and cost aspects of the project, including the formulation of financial plans and budgets; and managing the release of necessary project funds.
  • Obtain resources, allocate duties and responsibilities to the project and support personnel;
  • Develop a project management plan to control time, cost and quality;
  • Measure and report project progress to project team members and stakeholders, identifying issues and taking corrective action;
  • Ensure agreed system engineering and business processes are conducted;
  • Ensure project changes are managed in accordance with Change Management methodology;
  • Develop and proactively manage risk management plan;
  • Manage and control the work of external suppliers and third party suppliers;
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Program Management operations and delivery performance.

Capabilities

  • At least 10 years working in an IT environment including 8 years as a Project Manager or equivalent.
  • An understanding of current and emerging Internet technologies eg. VOIP, 3G, Video Messaging.
  • An understanding of Telecommunications BSS and OSS capabilities, Billing Systems.
  • Experience in vendor contract negotiating and scheduling
  • Experience in ISPs, Telecommunications, IT & T projects in a Systems Engineering and Commercial environment. Such as Data Migration, and Software Integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues.
  • An understanding of Internet Service Provider (ISP) concepts, practices and technologies.
  • Experience in development of schedules, spreadsheets
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology preferable, however relevant work experience will be taken into consideration.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Systems Engineering Methodology, the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Cost Schedule control and PMBOK methodology or an equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) concepts, practices and technologies.
