THE WFA (WORK AND FORCE ADMINISTRATION) SYSTEM ANALYST MANAGES AND AUTOMATES MOST OF THE WORK ASSIGNMENTS REQUIRED TO INSTALL AND REPAIR FACILITIES, TRUNKS, SPECIAL SERVICE CIRCUITS, AND BUSINESS/RESIDENTIAL LINES. WFA/DI (DISPATCH IN) SYSTEM IS THE FORCE ADMINISTRATION COMPONENT THAT MANAGES CENTRAL OFFICE CRAFT PERSONNEL.
The primary role of this position will be to identify changes to the WFA/DI Application with a supporting role to the other WFA/NSDB systems supporting business process and system changes required as a result of a new product launch and process change. The secondary role requires Main-Frame Development Tasks.
This position requires testing new enhancements, maintenance releases and emergency patches for the WFA/DI system and associated applications. An understanding of the service delivery and assurance process and how systems interrelate and support this process is required. The position requires carrying a pager or cell phone and responding to outages that have a critical impact to business operations.
- Develop a full understanding of the WFA/DI application, the process it supports, and its associated interfaces.
- Build levels of effort in response to changes required by product deployments, process changes, process improvement efforts, and emergency releases.
- Respond to emergency pages as they relate to the WFA/DI application access and availability.
- Participate on occasional weekend deployments
- Provide analytical and consulting services to the business clients using the application.
- Participate on a team offering regular and frequent status on assignments and tasks.
- Work in a consultative manner by utilizing skills in conflict resolution and strong interpersonal skills.
- Act as a change agent; able to adapt quickly to major change. Is resilient and manages ambiguity well.
Qualifications:
- Main-frame experience; Development in some programming knowledge on Main-frame; SPUFI knowledge would be good, although my knowledge is very rudimentary; ISPF experience; some knowledge of JCL; some knowledge of Ordering systems, preferably in-region Ordering. SOAC knowledge.
- Works well with others in a team environment - acts as group facilitator

- Works well under pressure to solve problems quickly and efficiently to meet customer needs
- Strong development skills, ability to learn hardware/software applications. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated understanding of IT Governance methodologies, process improvement efforts, process modelling techniques and associated tools.
- Process management skills.
- Written and verbal communications skills, including technical writing and presentation skills.
- High understanding and hands on experience with the WFA/DI application with a moderate understanding of the WFA/C, NSDB and WFA/DO applications. Some degree of knowledge needed of the WFA/DI interfaces not limited to LMOS, TIRKS, SWITCH/FOMS, Midrange.
- Telcordia vendor management experience including the MR/TR process, guest test, national forums, operation advisory groups, processes, etc.;
- Understanding of ADSL and VDSL flows;
- Capable of both GUI and command line functions;
- System Administration background;
- Trouble resolution background;
- Unit, system and Intersystem testing background;
- Contract and requirements analysis background;
- Some project or program management experience;
- Tier II/Tier III support experience;
- Experience with data modelling;
- Experience writing systems test plans, requirements and technical presentations;
- Familiarity with systems interfacing (knowledge of immediate interfaces is critical);
- Familiarity with the WFA/DI Open Query System and Manager Scratch Pad;
- Familiarity with DCI-Direct Contract Interface;
