As a Principal Solution Consultant/Technology Architect, you will be responsible for the definition, oversight, coordination and development of application/architecture initiatives, working closely with other technology areas and programs to strategize on application and architecture. Our staff of dedicated professionals currently support and maintain more than 40 Sales and Marketing
applications representing a broad range of technologies. A major initiative you will be supporting is the California Sell and Renew Program (CSAR) which will introduce a new set of technology platforms that will enable modern sales and administration processes, especially self service for our customers
and brokers, and will support business agility by enabling new processes and capabilities.
This position will also provide leadership and mentoring in the development and operations of SOA methodologies, policies and practices and overall technology platform strategy.

Essential Functions:
Provide definition, oversight and the coordination of the application architectural strategy roadmap and implementation.
Strategize and consult with other IT areas and products/programs on the MSRPU application integration solutions.
Participate in vendor RFI/RFP activities and reviews and drive vendors to deliver products that will enable the target Client's Technology architecture.
Work closely and align with specific MSRPU Lines of Business; maintain close working relationships with senior management to understand Line of Business goals and requirements.
Influence technology decisions & directions for the aligned Line of Business. Must have good business acumen, broad knowledge of technologies & tools and be a subject matter expert in certain areas.
Apply architectural principles, guidelines, standards, reference architecture, patterns & frameworks to deliver consistent and cost effective frameworks for re-use.
Be able to quickly understand and synthesize the business requirements and help the various stakeholders in visualizing the solution.
Able to connect technology and concepts to financial impacts resulting in Total Cost of Operations (TCO) estimates and projections.
Strong leadership skills to bring all the stakeholders together; consensus builder and thought leader.
Highly skilled at creating executive level summaries from ground level work up to high level abstract strategies.
Participate in SOA governance, processes and procedures for the MSRPU Systems
and ensures proper alignment.
Provide mentoring and guidance to other application architects and MSRPU Solution Consultants. Acts as an escalation point for MSRPU architectural
decisions.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
15 years of Information Technology experience.
10 years experience with enterprise application/systems architecture.
8 years experience with architecture frameworks such as Zachman/TOGAF with proven track record of implementing and actively managing fundamental architectural frameworks, methodologies, and architectures.
10 years experience with all phases of SDLC methodologies, business process reengineering and functional analysis for complex technology applications for large scale systems.
5 years experience with IT architecture methods and designs.
Must have previous experience as an architect on Enterprise level applications and initiatives.
Experience with complex applications in different architectural environments including Mainframe, web and Client Server.
Knowledge of SOA services, Event Architecture, Web Services, and other integration methodologies.
Experience in Healthcare and/or insurance industry and/or implementation of HealthCare or Insurance systems. Healthcare Sales and Marketing and Membership Systems experience is highly desired
Experience in evaluating software packages and working with application vendors and system integrators on Request For Information/Request For Proposals.
Ability to create and provide presentations to Executive leadership.
Demonstrate a high level of judgment and risk taking to make appropriate decisions for diverse, sophisticated and undefined issues.
Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines and in challenging settings.
Experience working in large organizations with cross-departmental teams.
Customer service and results oriented while maintaining a team focus approach.
Excellent problem-solving, strategic and systems analysis and complex decision making skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross functional teams.
Strong oral and written communication and documentation, collaboration and presentation skills.
