The successful candidate will be responsible for the achievement of safety, quality, delivery and cost targets for a complete range of manufactured product within Equipment Operations.

Principal Accountability's will include:
* Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for the department.
* To agree a schedule of output with the external customers or territorial management which is achievable
* To meet this commitment whilst ensuring that resources are utilised in a cost effective manner.
* Manage the factory capacity (DL, IDL & facilities) to meet the short term order book (. Review and publish the factory capacity plan for medium term requirements (3 - 9 months)
* Development of a team culture which is customer focused with emphasis on improved flexibility of operations
* Continuous improvement of all performance metrics (SQDC) through engineering and resource management.
* To work with development teams to facilitate the smooth introduction of new products and associated processes to the cell in order to meet timescale, quality and cost targets.
* To manage and administer staff with particular emphasis on (a) the correct composition and headcount within the team, (b) the motivation and morale of employees, (c) personal development and where, appropriate, career aspirations of each member of the team.
* To manage and administer staff and ensure that Company/Site policies with regard to holidays, sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance are implemented consistently and fairly.
* To administer the department budget with agreed budgetary constraints.
* To understand and apply the management system to all aspects of the job. To show visible leadership for Safety at all times in line with the company Safety Roadmap.
* To continue to develop a team culture which is customer focused, primarily, on improved flexibility of operations.
* To develop and promote the application of the continuous improvement process.
* To maintain regular communication with all employees in line with the team briefing strategy.
* To foster upward communication.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
* Graduate Engineer with 5 years line management experience. 10 years experience within a manufacturing operation.
* Thorough understanding of all operational areas, eg manufacturing planning systems, manufacturing engineering, supply chain logistics, quality systems, product support and development activities.
* Experience of managing and motivating teams is essential.
* Experience in leading quality and other improvement projects through multi-disciplined teams is required.
* Desirable to have participated in new product introduction teams, a major CAPEX implementation or major business project implementation team.
* Clear understanding of modern manufacturing techniques and manufacturing best practice: 5S's, Lean Manufacturing, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), computerised applications, SCP daily planning systems.
* Understanding of the products produced in the department ie production process, technical design and performance characteristics, customers applications.
* Must be able to work with detailed information in a logical and organised way. Must be computer literate and able to produce reports, spreadsheets and graphical data to reflect the cells' performance both internally and in response to customer queries.
* Understanding of the management systems and behavioural safety program.
