One of the world's leading manufacturers, home to a raft of household names, is immediately recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Plant work stream on a project to design, procure and build a new state of the art paint manufacturing facility, expected to be fully commissioned by 2015.
Key Criteria would include:
* Project managing the engineering implementation of the chemical plant project
* Managing c£20m budget for the Manufacturing Plant work stream production lines across 6 engineering work streams compromising of civil works, ii) process infrastructure, iii) electrical, iv) automation and process control, v) manufacturing, and vi) filling and packing
* Taking day to day direction from the Lead Project Manager for the Manufacturing stream. The detailed engineering work will largely be delivered by fit for purpose 3rd party engineering contractors
* Integrating and coordinating as part of the 6 engineering stream deliverables across the project
The successful candidate will have an Engineering degree or equivalent and have a proven record of relevant career progress following the engineering qualification. You will have a relevant and successful track record in engineering involving chemical plant manufacturing and some process engineering experience related to chemical production processes. Knowledge and experience in a number of key tools and methodologies such as VSM, TPM, 6 Sigma and lean manufacturing will be required to drive operational excellence.
Please note that significant travel within the UK and occasionally Europe will be required.
