Business Analyst - for set up for the Equities Product Control function for Event Optimisation (Equity derivatives) business for Global Markets in London.
- Understand and map the accounting flows into the General Ledger.
- Configure the subledger to understand the front to back process flow.
- Understand the life cycle of a trade and the associated controls.
- Understand the regulatory reporting requirements for this product.
- Work on automating control reports and extracts for P&L and regulatory reporting.
- Perform UAT with test trades and GL feeds.
- Act as the point person on Financial System Review.
- Implement daily P&L production process including explain/attribution analysis and reporting.
- Implement independent price testing for tolerance breaks with Front Office/Mid Office.
- Document independent price verification analysis.
- Develop process for validation pricing inputs, sources and volatility smiles.
- Document and build balance sheet substantiation/recons.
- Document policies, procedures and evidence of controls.
- Lead the Equities new product implementation on behalf of Finance & Accounting to ensure correct product definition and valuation.
- Be single point of contact for Front Office accounting and valuation requests.
- Support of US/UK regulatory reporting for matters involving EO business.
- Maintain inventory of pricing sources used for independent price testing.
- Administer tolerances used for valuation and price testing.
- Partner with Model Validation Group on substantive model changes.
- Partner with the Front Office to implement approved non-substantive and substantive changes.
- Maintain policies, procedures and documentation to evidence the effectiveness of the valuation governance & control environment.

Specific Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelors degree, with concentration in Accounting/Finance change management/business analyst roles
- Understanding of accounting and valuation of Equity Options, and how the processes required form a finance and product control perspective to support this product
- 7 - 10 years minimum experience in Financial Services
- Project management/business analysis experience in Finance Change Management - Preferred experience with Bloomberg, AIM, Global One, Oracle G/L application and Reuters
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Macros, VBA preferred - Desire to demonstrate initiative in improving processes and to be actively involved in teamwork

Level of Education:
- Bachelor's degree, with concentration in Accounting or Finance
- Qualified ACCA/ACA preferred
- Previous Level of Experience:
- 7-10 years, mainly in banking with emphasis on Equity products Skills - interpersonal, numerical, problem-solving, analytical, etc:
- Candidate must be prepared to challenge assumptions, question pnl movements and therefore have strong technical knowledge. The candidate will be the point person for finance with Middle Office, risk and the traders and so the ability to build good working relationships essential. Disposition - motivation, team skills, ability to work under pressure, etc: Candidate must have strong and persistent personality, be able to work well within a small team, thrive on working under pressure and continually look at ways of improving process
