IMMEDIATE opportunity for Windows/IIS Web Server Administrator:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
* A strong understanding of IIS and .NET architecture and capabilities
* Extensive knowledge of Windows server operating systems, services, and networking
* Experience supporting IIS hosted websites/applications with Windows and IIS 6.0/7.0
* Comprehensive knowledge of web hosting practices, related to authentication, load-balancing, SSL, DNS, web services, content replication, etc.
* Demonstrate high level troubleshooting experience with IIS components using various debugging tools
* Create/maintain documentation for websites/applications and processes (design/installation and support)
* Self starter with strong organizational and communication skills
* 4 years+ IT experience, including system and/or software support including maintenance and upgrades
* 2+ years of IIS, .NET, Application Pools and COM+ experience
* Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are key
* Ability to quickly analyze and determine what issues are server-related problems (to be handled by the person in this role) and what are code-related problems that will be turned over to developers
* Attention to detail is a must
* Ability to work in a team environment and transfer knowledge effectively
* Good communication and listening skills
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
HAVING THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY PREFERRED:
o Windows Server 2003 and 2008
o 2010 Team Foundation Server
o SQL Server 2005 or 2008
o Microsoft MOM/SCOM
o Apache, Apache/TomCat experience
o PowerShell Scripting experience
o Visual Source Safe
o Visual Studio (ASP, ASP.NET, html)
o SAS experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with application developers on a daily basis.
* Install and configure custom ASP.NET web applications, .NET assemblies, and .NET batch jobs.
* Administer and configure IIS (versions 6 and 7.5).
* Have good understanding of IIS management console and direct web.config manipulation.
* Monitor server and application health and troubleshoot problems using various tools (Systrack, MOM/SCOM, AVIcode, Process Explorer, DebugDiag of memory dumps)
* Create PowerShell scripts to use for configuring Servers and performing routine administration tasks.
* Administer and configure COM+ packages, components, and roles.
* Install, configure, and maintain 3rd party software used in conjunction with the custom applications.
* Contact vendors to get information for installments (license keys, installation packages, and deployment instructions).
* Update license keys as needed.
* Coordinate the installation of updates with developers.
* Have familiarity with web farms which are set up under a network appliance.
* Maintain documentation about the installation and configuration of the web Servers and apps.
