A major Global Insurer is looking for a Solvency II Programme Director. The Solvency II Programme Director will join the Insurer at a very exciting time as the client is going through a huge period of Change. The Solvency II Programme Director will be solely responsible for leading the Business Change Solvency II programme. This will comprise of management of all programme related activities including all Solvency II workstreams including IT, governance and embedding, PMO and SMEs. The successful individual will have to be able to prove that they are Delivery Focussed and have owned similar sized Solvency II programmes. This is a Delivery focussed one.

Key Responsibilities
- Business Change leadership of the Solvency II programme leading the work stream leads from a programme perspective including IT.
- Accountable for the project structure and the accountabilities of the roles within the programme and recruitment of project personnel (as required). Ensuring that the project/programme roles are populated with adequately and appropriately skilled resources.
Production and maintenance of the overall business change plan, incorporating all business activities relating to Solvency II.
- Ensuring that the programme plan is aligned with the Insurers regulatory framework and other relevant change programmes.
- Accountable for the PMO
- Ensuring the IT work stream has adequate and timely support and input from the Business (including the review and sign off of documentation), and is adequately resourced, managed and tracked, with accurate milestone reporting in place.
- Working with IT as appropriate, ensuring appropriate relationships are maintained with the Insurers IT suppliers throughout, including ensuring adherence to SLAs etc.

Required Experience
- Matrix management responsibility of up 150+ people, direct management of 30+ programme resources.
- An expert on Business Change programme/project management (at least 10 years' practical experience preferably 20+) with a track record of delivering multi million pound programmes.
- Excellent influencing and relationship management skills with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate with Senior Executive and stakeholders
- Strong Programme Management skills combined with detailed understanding of required methodologies.
- Ideally, experience of regulatory programmes within the Financial Services Sector including interacting with the FSA.
- A good understanding of IT such that IT plans can be challenged and IT issues and risks can be understood and resolved.
- Ability to work with others, including SMEs from a range of disciplines to overcome issues and solve problems.
- Experience of embedding significant change within a business.
- Gravitas to command respect and lead the relevant elements of the programme providing guidance to work stream leads and business executives as appropriate.
