Oracle Financials Support Analyst/Specialist
Contract - 4 to 6 months

Position Summary

This long-term position will function as the primary support resource in the IT organization for Oracle E-Business Suite release 11i.
Modules include: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets (FA), Purchasing (PO), Inventory (INV), iProcurement and Asset Tracking.
This position functions as the key contact for the organization on all production issues.

The Oracle Support Specialist has overall responsibility for the performance, reliability, and optimization of production systems and processes. He/she will be expected to develop a high level of expertise not only on the Oracle EBS applications, but on the physical and logical infrastructure as well. He/she will draw on application development, database and systems specialists for additional support when required to supplement their knowledge. His/her goal should be to lead proactive initiatives that minimize the need to be reactive to problems.

The Oracle Support Specialist will be expected to lead the analysis of root cause factors that prevent production systems and processes from being highly reliable, accurate and efficient. A primary focus will be on the development and implementation of initiatives that eliminate dependence on manual operations.

The Oracle Support Specialist additionally will be responsible for the development and perpetual maintenance of formal documentation of Oracle EBS systems and processes as well as capacity planning, identifying patching requirements and configuration management.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years blended technical/functional experience with the Oracle EBS and possess a basic understanding of basic accounting principles and controls (IT Controls, SOX, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Basic familiarity with month-end close financial procedures and support requirements
Basic familiarity with Oracle EBS Workflow/AME for requisition and AP invoice approvals
3-5 years working experience using Oracle EBS in a system support or user administration (preferably Financial applications)
Demonstrated competency in relational databases and reporting/query technologies, particularly SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
Working knowledge in Unix and Windows operating environments and FTP processes
Technical skills including Toad, Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint

Responsibilities
Key roles and responsibilities:
System Analysis
Assist in defining/validating whether and how functional requirements are best incorporated within the existing platform
Coordinate/consult with business users and developers on changes to the system
File and represent change requests as part of the release planning process
Map business processes and interdependencies with other system components to ensure that change consider all aspects of the system
Ensure approvals are captured for all changes to the system before authorizing deployment to production
Oversee and schedule releases with the DBA team
Perform system sanity testing as part of system release cycles to ensure proper code and setup deployments
System Support
Address user functional and technical issues Resolve help desk tickets logged by users for queries, errors and other problems experienced on the system
Log and manage all issues with our hosted support team, create Oracle service requests as needed
Work with hosted vendor to monitor and ensure that appropriate Oracle EBS processes are running properly
Provide support for bolt-on systems, including Oracle Imaging, Risk Compliance tools, and
Web ADI
Assigning and maintenance of roles, responsibilities to users, end-dating records, etc. per approved requests in our ticketing system
Scheduling/monitoring of concurrent programs, daily interfaces, Oracle alerts, etc.
