Principal Designer job #2693 -- Akron/Canton, OhioLocal manufacturer in the Canton area is seeking a Principal Designer to fill a Contract position.
Responsibilities:
• Designs will be created and maintained in CAD design files.
• Maintain design files for design projects.
• Create CAD documentation for design (detail and assembly drawings).
• Perform tolerance analysis for all portions of the design.
• Interface with the Central Manufacturing Organization to support their efforts.
• Supply CAD information to manufacturing engineering for them to develop work instructions.
• Assist with prototype builds and analysis. Redesign as necessary.
• Support pilot build and manufacturing startup as required.
• Will check work of other associates who are at an equivalent or lesser job classification.
• Will receive assignments from engineers and/or department manager.
• Support creation by other designers of both Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
Requirements:
? Engineering Degree or equivalent
? Eight or more years of Engineering CAD experience working with Development and Manufacturing
? Must be experienced with Personal Computers.
? Must have an "investigative" mind as well as being a good decision maker.
? Must be able to develop designs based on specifications and concepts ranging from simple to complex in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines using CAD
