CAD & FEA Process Simulation Technician job #2678 -- Akron/Canton, OhioLocal Northeast Ohio manufacturer is seeking a CAD & FEA Process Simulation Technician to fill a Contract to Permanent Position.
This technician must generate 3D CAD models & assemblies and perform electronic FEA process simulation evaluations.
Responsibilities:
• Generate 3D casting models based on data from 2D drawings
• Add casting gating schemes to models based on engineering design and input
• Generate 3D assemblies of part specific mold clusters
• Input, program and run FEA process simulations based on engineering input
• Report and communicate simulation results
• Other miscellaneous related responsibilities as needed / assigned
Requirements:
• 2 or 4 year technical degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered on an individual basis.
• Must be proficient in 3D modeling and be able to work in Autodesk Inventor
• Must be extremely computer savvy and proficient
o Able to be trained in the specialized ESI Procast FEA process simulation software and become proficient quickly
o Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
o CAD Software
? 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor)
? 2D drafting (AutoCAD)
• Adequately read, understand and interpret 2D mechanical drawings and sketches
• Fundamental understanding of thermodynamics & heat transfer important
• Basic understanding of the investment casting process including metallurgical, ceramic, and wax material science helpful.
• Ability to effectively read, analyze, interpret, communicate, and present information in both a written and a non-written forum is required.
• Proficient in basic and some advanced mathematical skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry)
• Ability to understand and convert multiple types of scale notations (mass, distance, pressure, flow, hardness)
