Job Description:
This position has project management responsibilities and requires a mix of project management expertise, technical abilities, leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.
This position also requires strong negotiation, planning, coordination, organization and problem solving skills.
The RM interacts and partners directly with their team members, the management team, other program managers, and other engineers within operations, services, marketing and engineering. Release Management is responsible for managing various releases in adherence to both our client and our clients groups compliance requirements.
Release Managers in our clients group need to feel comfortable both managing software releases in various development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) as well as adhere to the Quality System established by our clients groups compliance team to meet Regulatory Compliance obligations.
Team: There are releases every 12-15 weeks to the US Market and Internationally. You would work with a team is based in Redmond 50-55 people within development, test, pm, marketing and UX. The Culture is casual, fast paced and Fun.
Release management is responsible for:
Driving the release strategy, which is the overarching design, plan, and approach for release of online service into production in collaboration with Shiproom Triad of Program Management, Development and Test Leads.
Development of a release plan including scheduled resources, schedule dates, priority, and coordination with the property or other internal groups
Determining the readiness of each release based on release criteria (quality of release, release exit criteria and production environment readiness, training and support plans, and risk management plan).
Cross-group Coordination - Effectively coordinate with legal, marketing, support, services and operations for shipping a quality release.
Responsible for managing required release activities during feature planning, development, stabilization and release of product.
Minimum Skills Required:
Extensive Microsoft Experience working in release role at our client required
Direct Project Management Experience required
Tools expertise in MS Excel, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Product Studio, Office Programs, Visio, SharePoint
Technical background preferred in web or enterprise products
Ability to juggle multiple releases/projects in a fast paced environment
Expertise in managing cross functional meetings across different disciplines and levels of management
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Strong work ethic as well as can do attitude and be able to Hit the ground running.
Previous experience at our client within Online Services, Web Based Products, or Engineering as a Release PM required
