About the Role:
The role will see the successful Database Adiminstrator (DB2, Mainframe) working in a team environment, responsible for the contracted Database Administration services to prestigious customers; ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support and maintenance of DB2 and Mainframe Database Systems.
- Database design.
- Database capacity planning and maintenance.
- Tuning for performance and providing secure database environments.
- Database structure modifications.
- Problem solving and data migration.
- General 'troubleshooting'.
- Scheduled support work, as well as rostered on-call support after normal business hours.
- Support stress testing for new applications or enhancements to existing applications.
- Provide planning, testing and execution support to disaster recover exercises.
- Implement and maintain appropriate database security.
Key Skills Required:
- 5 + years experience in Database administration, with a particular emphasis on IMS.
- Solid experience in a process driven, commercial environment.
- Extensive experience in supporting Mainframe and DB2 Databases.
- Team and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
