DESCRIPTION

The Network Services/Support consultant will assist in the migration of a Legacy OAM network to a new Gold Standard. This will include deploying new Routers, Switches, and trunk capacity as well as configuring them. Assist with developing automation tools and programming rules to manage daily routines.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in related field plus minimum of 3 - 5 years experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree may be considered.
  • A Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent: Juniper JNCIA, etc.) is required.
  • Requires an operations/networking background combined with creative and independent thinking.
  • Ability to analyze complex circuit/networking issues and routing problems, an extensive knowledge in network design and maintenance, and an overall understanding of the IP transport principles.
  • Strong understanding of all emerging technologies and network security policies and standards.
  • Possess a very broad technical knowledge and understanding of large scale, LAN/WAN networks.
  • Advanced understanding of OSPF/BGP Routing Protocols, switching VLAN design and setup are required.
  • Experience with MPLS on an LDP switched network is required.
  • Experience in data networks supporting wireless services is also desired.
  • Must possess the expertise to support less experienced peers in performing complex assignments and providing support for troubleshooting and maintaining IP Networks, concentrating on facilities ranging from Gigabit Ethernet to OC192.
  • Extensive knowledge/experience deploying and configuring Cisco high-end Routers and Switches (CRS, 12416 (GSR), , 6509/4, 4800, 3600, 2900).
  • Expert skill level with Cisco 65xx/76xx,
  • A solid background in digital/SONET facilities provisioning and troubleshooting is also required.
  • Juniper M and MX series experience is a definite plus.
  • Strong UNIX administration skills and Scripting capabilities are a definite plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team in a 24/7 environment are required. Work during night shift maintenance windows will be required.
