DESCRIPTIONThe iDEN RF Lab Technician will assist in maintaining test stations and support 15 test engineers by making cables and installing equipment in racks.
Responsibilities
- RF Lab environment design, planning, and construction.
- Test equipment procurement and order placement with third party vendors and shipment tracking.
- Maintain ISO/TL9000 standards.
- Make cable assemblies; wire and configure racks and test stations; maintain lab equipment; document lab layout and label cables.
- Provide maintenance for lab PCs; maintain lab inventory; order lab supplies; organize lab and keep it organized; preventive maintenance; and headend alignment.
- Conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplifications and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.
- Support of implementation of RF lab environment for test and maintenance of product development assets.
- Support of design and implementation of detailed test set-up.
- Automatic testing procedures definition and Support Engineer in writing scripts for automatic test station.
- Required Education in Practical Engineering/Technician - Graduated.
- Experience Level, 7 - 10 years.
- Knowledge of RF test equipment is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of iDEN wireless communication standards. Technical areas addressed in lab digital Cable systems; digital satellite settops; HD and SD video; cable modems and networks; fiber optic equipment.
- Organized self starter.
- Network experience a plus.
