DESCRIPTION

The Oncology Business Unit Project Manager will provide comprehensive project management and ensure alignment in strategy, communication, and deliverables for a full program transition to an external partner. Ensure that all operational deliverables of the project/program are achieved on or ahead of schedule, within budget target, and with quality that meets or exceeds the business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and document meetings with partner lines and external partners
  • Coordinate technical transfer of all data and documentation to external partners in collaboration with Business Development
  • Develop strategy and options for completing Phase 2 and 3 studies by facilitating meetings and discussions with Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, and Finance teams, then tracks timelines and progress
  • Develop and maintain an integrated project/program level budget and facilitate contract changes
  • Lead, develop, and manage all project scheduling, resource forecasting, and project controls
  • Clearly define critical path activities and decision criteria
  • Manage the project/program to key decision points and milestones according to time, cost, and quality parameters of the endorsed plan
  • Proactively identify and manage emerging changes and opportunities and drive iterations of the plan in the project schedule
  • Monitor and manage project/program activities against the approved budget
  • Work with the team to optimize resource utilization and maximize return on investment
  • Negotiate the allocation of partner line resources to support the endorsed transition plan Team Effectiveness
  • Lead the development and coordination of project/program level goals and closely monitor progress against these goals for operational efficiency
  • Track record for delivery against challenging personnel and team goals

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree minimum (advanced degree desirable) in a discipline relevant to drug development
  • 6+ years experience in pharmaceutical development
  • Advanced leadership skills, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and meeting facilitation skills
  • Oncology clinical development experience is highly desirable
  • Understanding of the project management discipline and its application to drug development (professional PM certification highly desirable)
  • Hands-on experience in creating and maintaining project schedules in Microsoft Project or an equivalent system is highly desirable
  • Expertise in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project a plus
  • Successful track record as a team leader and project manager for pharmaceutical drug development teams
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize project management tools and techniques, such as developing integrated project plans, critical path management, project change control, project risk management, and decision analysis
  • Experience with SOPs highly desirable
  • Familiarity with clinical trial execution, working with internal and external partners at all levels
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, challenging, and complex Matrix team environment
