Title: Advanced Software Developer
Type: Contract - 9 months (likelihood to go perm)
Location: Atlanta, GA

Overview:

Project scope: This is for the 1st phase for project (a 14 year old data repository built in Powerbuilder on Oracle), and there will be 4-5 applications to follow over the next 3-5 years to build this on a web based application. The current team is the Team lead, and Expert Developer, an Expert Developer with MVC3, an seeking a more junior to mid level person (also have a PM, Interaction Designer, QA, and 1-2 resources on old data sync effort). The first iteration is in Agile, so it's helpful this person has worked before in an agile environment.

Overall Requirements:

Looking for an Advanced level developer that participates in systems analysis, technical design, implementation and maintenance/support of custom built web applications to support various business processes. Must be able to work closely and effectively collaborate with the project team members and our business users. This person will also participate in the research and implementation of new development tools, standards, release management, etc.

Responsibilities Include:
-Develop and modify complex, custom built web applications. Document all code adhering to naming conventions. 40-60%
-Perform analysis of customer and vendor requirements and create design specifications with time estimates for user interfaces, application enhancements, new functionality, and Back End processes 20-40%
-Work with Quality Assurance to develop and perform unit, system, and user acceptance testing. 10-20%
-Work with Architecture and other infrastructure groups as applicable to determine and implement system hardware requirements. 10 - 20%
-Help provide production support and respond with solutions in a timely manner. 10-20%
-Work with DBAs and other team members to ensure data models are executed according to user requirements 10-20%
-Identify opportunities and make recommendations for software, process, reporting, or other technology improvements 5-15%

Required Technical skills:
- 3-5 plus years: C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005 or greater, DB design/modelling
- MVC 2 or greater a plus - will confirm how much of a plus. AND, this is MVC Architecture and not design patterns.
- Experience with ORM technology (NHibernate, Entity Framework), jQuery, Ajax/Json knowledge, MVC3, HTML5
- Experience with 3rd Party ASP.NET MVC controls (Telerik NUnit)

Experience and Other requirements:
- Good communication skills spoken, written, and visual (whiteboarding to get your ideas across)
- Three to five years experience in Software Development.
- Experience with Agile (FDD, Scrum, etc)
- Demonstrated understanding of data, process, and business modelling.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaborative skills
