As preferred supplier to this organisation, Candle are looking for a IT Support Specialist to join their close knit team. This organisation is currently working on a ground breaking project in the healthcare sector which will ultimately effect the whole of Australia. They will be an organisation you will be proud to have on your Resume. This initial 3 to 6 month contract involves providing general IT support to users, by phone or in person to resolve desktop computer and network system problems in a timely manner. The support of systems includes; applications, hardware, LAN & WAN network, printing, telephony, video conferencing and mobility services. The role is also required to assist in logging service requests and recording incidents, so obviously this is a hands-on position. Your key responsibility will include: To provide level 1 IT support by: 

  • Troubleshooting network printer problems and assist with network peripherals
  • Logging of service requests and recording incidents into helpdesk system
  • Desktop Support
  • Assisting IT team in creating materials for IT systems documentation
  • Provisioning laptops and creating user accounts
  • Assisting in some level 2 issues
  • Assisting network and systems engineers through escalating level 2 & 3 issues

To be successful in this role you will offer: 

  • IT support skills - application, network and systems support;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and have knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, hardware configuration, desktop software, LAN and WAN networks, and printing protocols;
  • Should be familiar with Microsoft network environments as a support person;
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • It would be desired but not essential for you to have Microsoft certifications or tertiary training.

There is an opportunity for training in certain areas of this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and succeed within the helpdesk space.
