A leading E&P oil & gas firm is looking to recruit into its Group Reporting team to assist with year end. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of energy and working in technical reporting positions. In the role you will be responsible for all statutory accounts for the UK business; provide technical accounting advice and training to different departments in the UK in respect of products, services and corporate transactions; working in a team of 5 you will also be responsible for any ad hoc reporting for the team and will be liaising with the Group and Treasury teams. The right applicant must be a qualified accountant (CA or ACCA), with experience of working in an energy firm (ideally upstream oil & gas); have excellent financial accounting experience and must have practical exposure to IFRS statutory accounts; you will be able to demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines and be flexible with working hours; have excellent attention to detail, an inquisitive approach to work and someone who enjoys problem solving; communication skills are essential as you will be required to liaise with other areas of the business and ask probing questions to ensure an accurate and timely close
