Senior Risk Officer - Banking - Glasgow - Circa £400 per day
A leading UK retail bank requires a Senior Risk Officer to join their team based in Glasgow.
Supporting the Head of Function, you will be required to establish and implement a robust payment
risk control framework.
Specific elements include:
- Establishment and ongoing oversight of the Risk Control Assessment (RCA) process
- Annual walkthrough of the departmental processes and refresh of the RCA
- Identification of new and emerging risks and design of suitable yet commercial control environment to provide protection
- Identification and resolution of control issues and themes including managing the resolution of audit and other BU control issues (CIGLS/CICLS etc)
- Act as an escalation point and point of contact for the Business aligned control teams
- Review the quality and consistency of the implementation of the Control framework
- Develop and implement transparent and consistent reporting across each unit
- Establish consolidated control reporting and ensure consistency, quality, completeness and accuracy of control reporting
- Interact with the key framework stakeholders
- Ensure Governance oversight is in place in each business area around the management of Issues, Observations, Testing, Incidents
It is essential that you have worked within banking and financial services and have approximately 5 years experience in Operational Risk & Controls and/or audit in a regulated business environment. A practical knowledge of internal controls, including the development and maintenance of appropriate framework and related MI/KRIs.
You will also have experience in identifying and reporting internal control issues/concerns at a divisional level and coordinating efforts across the teams. An awareness of policy implementation and monitoring. Knowledge of process change management and project management. Exposure to banking and payments systems is also highly desirable.
