3.4 Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned database analyst with experience in a MS SQL Server environment. The database analyst will be responsible for reviewing user requests, gathering user requirements, analyze and determine the most efficient and effective approach to provide a solution, model, code/modify and document the database, and implement the database in the production environment after receiving client approval.
Throughout this process the database analyst will interact with the application developers and client as often as appropriate. The knowledge, skills and experience a database analyst must have to be successful in providing these services to our clients are:
Language Requirement: English Essential
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of multi-user Client Server applications is required;
Knowledge of Datamodelling is required.
Knowledge of Datawarehouse concepts and dimensional modelling are an asset;
Knowledge of the.NET architecture will be an asset;
Knowledge of Treasury and Finance systems will be an asset.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
10-12 years experience in progressively responsible positions in IT;
5- 8 years experience as a Microsoft SQL Server database analyst, including exposure to MS SQL 2005 and MS SQL 2008 R2;
Experience in Datamodelling using ERWIN;
Experience using MS SQL 2005 and 2008 R2 in a Windows 2008 R2 cluster;
Application development life cycle methodology;
Preparing technical documentation;
Analytical and technical skills;
Experience working in a team environment;
Use of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe will be an asset,
Use of Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010 will be an asset
Experience using Sybase Power Designer 15.0 as a modelling tool will be an asset;
Enhanced reliability security clearance; Mandatory
