Job Description:
SW Build Engineer/Build Coordinator
Responsible for all build/release engineering tasks associated with component track development
Assists in planning and development of collaborated product builds and components
Defines, manages and identifies build/release items throughout product life cycle for assigned tracks
Monitors and records changes
Track release content and turn-over for Dev and QA
Improve software build automation system
Assist in building out automate testing
Help product release documentation
Implement Best Practices for build and release management
Ensures that build process adheres to established schedules
Works with development teams to correct build errors
Job Requirements
1 or more years of build/release management experience
Proficient in Perl, Ruby, Python or other Scripting language
Experience in build automation with Ant, and or Maven
Experience with and knowledge of Branching
Versioning and versioning guidelines, with Unit Test incorporation
Experience with Python, Jython, desirable
Experience with IDE builds from RAD7/Eclipse 3.3
Shell build experience desirable
Experience with one or more of the following: Anthill Pro CruiseControl, Hudson, Build Forge desirable.
Experience/Expertise in Forking Java, properties files, building ears highly desirable.
Experience with SVN, CVS
Excellent problem solving skills and careful attention to detail
Able to manage complex projects in a fast paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience establishing guidelines for package creation
Experience creating multiple packages for disparate environments
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent training and experience
3+ years of experience with a combination of software development, build & release engineering, and configuration management
3+ years of Release Engineering experience building and deploying distributed, data driven, web-based, software solutions to Java, ASP.NET, AJAX, MS SQL and C#/C++ environment with at least weekly releases/production changes
Experience in deploying Web Application in a IBM WebSphere WAS environment
Full life cycle SDLC experience required
Experience Requirements:
Industry: 5 years, Build Engineering: 5 years
Specific Tools (Ant, SVN(ie, Subversion) and one or more of these build Servers: Hudson, Jenkins and CruiseControl): 2 years
Environment: Recent WebSphere Application Server versions 6.x/7.x: 2 years
Work environment/Is this a Medical facility/Is a health screen required? No.
If for a project, what is the scope of the project? 1 year with possibility of 2 more.
Top 3 skills needed to succeed in this position:
Expert Ant Scripting, Proficient with SVN (branching, merging, versioning etc..), Proficient relevant build server administration and configuration
Soft skills desired:

Educational requirements, is a degree required
Baccalaureate strongly preferred.
