MI and Planning is primarily responsible for the production of consolidated management information and customer group reporting for the Bank's Global Businesses. The Reporting & Analysis Team sits within MI and Planning and is focused on delivering MI and analytics for the European business to senior management. The scope covers all business areas (Global Banking & Markets, Retail, and Private Banking) across the whole of Europe. The team is responsible for monthly/quarterly analysis and reporting, budgeting and planning, and annual/interim report commentary, as well providing pertinent financial information in light of a changing banking environment.

Job description:
This is a high profile role providing MI and analytics to senior management around revenues, costs, balance sheet at a consolidated level by customer group and country. The successful candidate will be involved in the provision of financial information and analysis to support management in the delivery and implementation of the firm's strategy.

As such, responsibilities will include:
Providing insightful analytics/MI/commentary on a monthly/quarterly basis to European management and Group Finance;
Assisting in the preparation of MI reports such as the Business Performance Report (BPR), European Management Report (EMR), P&L analytical review by customer groups among others;
Reviewing, analysing and challenging reports and commentaries supplied by customer groups MI teams across Europe, identifying inconsistencies and requesting clarification when required;
Assisting with the management and co-ordination of requirements and deliverables received from key stakeholders, in order to ensure timely reporting to Group Finance and management;
Interrogating Group Systems and other data sources to reconcile and provide an understanding of movements and support analysis;
Assisting in the enhancement of existing reporting suite to deliver more value add analysis;
Participating in the planning and re-forecasting processes;
Building and maintaining excellent relationships across multiple businesses, functions and geographies across Europe;
Providing ad-hoc analysis for MI management and colleagues.

Special requirements:
Fully Qualified Accountant
Extensive relevant work experience
Experience of developing and delivering MI reporting
Product knowledge (particularly investment banking and retail banking products) desirable
Ability to work to tight deadlines with great attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly and write concise and pertinent reports to management
Ability to build excellent working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to use TM1 (or other multi-dimensional cube environment) desirable
Strong problem solving and analytical ability
Team player
Pro-active, self starter
European language(s) desirable
