General Account
Brief description
To produce accurate and timely financial reports to support reporting to the Executive and to the Group. To assist in ensuring complete and accurate accounting records are maintained, which enable the provision of financial information and other services for both internal and external customers of the Finance function.
General duties:
- Assist in the production of monthly and quarterly reporting packs (under various GAAPs) analysing the balance sheets and full Profit and Loss Account for the Non Life group of companies.
- Assist in the accounting for the Non Life investment and property portfolios and taxation under various GAAPs.
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for the Non Life group of companies.
- Liaise with Group Tax for preparation of the taxation charges for actual results under UKand IFRSGAAP.
- Account for the Non Life gross and reinsurance technical accounts under various GAAPs including review of the elements of the result prepared by ABS.
SKills required:
Process & systems knowledge:
- Understanding of company policies, business processes, procedures & systems in the context of wider business plans.
- Working knowledge of SAP an advantage
- Working understanding of UK GAAP/IFRSfor non-life insurance business
Commercial Knowledge:
- Understanding of non life insurance and reinsurance marketplace.
- Awareness of current issues in the financial services environment.
- Working understanding of the impacts to the technical account under UK GAAP/IFRSfor insurance business.
