My client is looking for a civil design engineer to work on current workflow.
Role based in the Midlands the ideal candidate will have the following:
Key duties will include:
Production of engineering designs to Network Rail requirements
Production of structural calculations and construction drawings to agreed quality and timescales.
Supervision of CAD technicians
Surveying and assessing existing structures
Site inspections
Liaison with subcontractors, including site works
Arranging specialist services if necessary (eg ground investigations)
Contributing to progress reports and liaison/coordination with other disciplines
Reviewing as built/handover information when required
Highlighting and seeking resolutions to issues affecting site design and procurement
Preparation of design risk assessments
Preparation of method statements for site work
Essential:
A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
A solid understanding of Civil and Structural design issues
Preferred:
A professional qualification such as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
Understanding of Network Rail's civil works processes
A working knowledge of the designers' responsibilities under the CDM regulations and an appreciation of the CDM regulations as a whole.
A solid understanding of Civil and Structural design issues
Commercially aware
