Web Designer

Our Client is seeking 2 Web Designers for a 6-9 month contract position in Morrisville, NC. The Client is the world's leading Chemical Company. The Web Designer is responsible for creating and/or acquiring content for websites, email newsletters and other online communications media such as podcasts and web tutorials. The Web Designer will act as an overall editor, website content specialist implementing editorial policy, creating and sourcing content, helping other content contributors supply additional content and information design defining the structure of content. The candidate will be responsible for creative services creating graphical and audio-visual content and technical services creating/sourcing content management solutions.

REQUIRED:
The Web Designer will be responsible for design and development and contribute to the top-level and detailed design of the website (or e-newsletter, etc.), with a particular focus on the ways in which the goals for the site and the needs of users can be met through the provision of appropriate content. The incumbent will need to pay attention to documentation, schedule the creation/acquisition of content in accordance with editorial policy and manage the creation. The Web Designer will prepare textual content for websites (including feature articles, advertising copy, database content, links, FAQs, etc.), prepare textual content for e-newsletters, prepare scripts for audio voiceovers, for downloading from the site or distribution as podcasts' and specify the multimedia content needed to support or work alongside textual content, locate and select appropriate, existing multimedia content, including still images, animations, music and video and liaise with multimedia specialists in the creation of any new multimedia content. He/she must make sure there is clear copyright for the use of any existing content, use metadata and other methods to optimize search engine positions and communicate with other site owners in order to maximize incoming links. The candidate must respond to user enquiries, comments and suggestions, moderate forums and moderate chat sessions and archive and backup content (where this is not automatic) and obtain user feedback.

The Web Designer must have Bachelor's Degree and/or three to five years of experience with content management.
The candidate must have 3 years of experience with Web Design or Content management and must be currently using and must have 3 years of experience with Content Management toolset and must also currently be using.
