One of Australia most prestigious Financial Organisations are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join the Foreign Exchange group. Be apart o this exciting program of work aimed to improve straight through processing and risk management capability! Role Purpose:  
This role will require a self-motivated, focused and flexible candidate to undertake a wide range of responsibilities in the course of supporting the business, including:  
  • Assist with the development of solutions for system and business processes under consideration.
  • Participate with the design, configuration and development/coding of extensions/customisations to in-house and vendor applications
  • Carry out application bug fixes
  • Participate with the specification of business and technical requirements for vendor's and internal developers.
  • Assist with the design and documentation of technical specifications.
  • Assist the team lead with the coordination between the application-vendor and internal business units as and when necessary.
  • Provide guidance to business analysts with the assessment of technical/system related issues
Experience required to be successful:    
  • Extensive experience in software development with C and C++
  • Development experience with low level messaging, queues and multi-threading
  • Extensive Experience working with Microsoft SQL 2000 & above and Windows 2003
  • Basic level understanding and experience with Oracle and Unix
  • Prior experience working with financial systems in Investment/Institutional Banks, in particular within FX, FX Option and Commodities areas, is preferred.
  • Software development principles and methodologies.
  • System testing principles and has an ability to carry out demanding testing tasks.
  • Possess the attention to detail, in particular with the quality of coding.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills & team player.
