DESCRIPTION:
Our client requires the services of a CIS/GIS Technical Lead, to provide deliverables including, but not limited to, the following:
The Technical lead is responsible for planning and managing the activities required to install the new systems including: developing the integration, reporting, and system installation strategies, developing the system integration mechanisms, managing the data migration activities, developing the reporting mechanisms, developing technical documentation, system support manuals, procedures, etc, managing the set-up and maintenance of the various physical environments (development, test, pre-production, production). The Technical Lead will participate in the execution of the test cycles, implementation planning and code reviews. The Technical Lead will be responsible for the handover to support, oversee development and other technical activities of project team. The Technical lead will also be responsible for Steering Committee presentations, minutes and other project related administrative documentation such as schedules, budgets and obtaining sign-offs. The Technical lead will also provide Operations with the expertise necessary to define, maintain, enhance or replace information systems and technology. He/She also provides technical assistance and direction to junior staff. Knowledge of, and adherence to procedures which uphold quality within Operations are required. The technical lead will act as a Liason between the project group and the Project Manager.
Skills:
Expert in large system deployment, system integration across diverse platforms, system architecture and design, test planning, technical writing, experience in data migration/conversion, project management experience, excellent communication and documentation skills
Previous experience with Internet based technologies.
Experience working with Windows XP, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and Visio.
Experience working with Oracle DBMS and Oracle tools such SQL Plus, Designer and Quest SQL Navigator
Experience working with SQL, PL/SQL, VB, VBS, VB.NET
Experience with a large transit authority a definite asset.
Experience with GPS systems and GPS related tools and technologies.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects with a sense of urgency.
Extensive knowledge of the SDLC and SDLC documentation.
Proven ability to act in a Project lead role.
Ability to act as a liaison between several groups and departments.
High level of communication and presentation skills.
Deliverables:
Key deliverables include: System Integration, System Architecture and Design documents, Reporting System and Architecture document, System Installation Strategy document, Overall System Architecture document, test plans for the integration and reporting mechanisms, various system support procedures and associated documentation. Project related documentation such as Steering Committee presentation, minutes and schedules.
