Our client leads the renewable energy businesses within the Group and is the UK`s leading independent landfill gas generation company.

Specialising in the generation of `Green` energy from sustainable means the company currently operates a variety of Spark ignition engine generators under long term secure contracts in the UK and overseas.

We are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Technician.

Responsibilities (include):
Operations and Maintenance
Day to day operations & maintenance of all operational generator sets to achieve maximum safe electrical output.
Maintenance of all other mechanical and electrical plant used in the operation of LFG schemes.
Maintenance of LV electrical equipment used in the operation of LFG schemes subject to training and competency.
Day to day operations of gas fields and generators at assigned sites in order to achieve maximum electrical output.
Provide 24-hour call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.
Objectives are to maximise electrical production and reduce operational costs by taking responsibility (where this is economically beneficial) for the operation and maintenance of as much plant and equipment as possible. Key to this will be our ability to operate & maintain our own generating sets and gas processing plant.
Reducing Renewables dependency on contractors, where it is economically prudent.
Training and supervision of Site Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding.
Support; including field support of Site Technicians as required.
Execution of all generator maintenance and the use of Site Technicians to undertake minor maintenance on generator sets as required by the management.
Utilisation of the company`s operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems.
Implementation of H&S and quality systems.
Compliance and implementation of company environmental protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
Conduct air emissions monitoring.
Deal directly with spillages using pollution prevention equipment.
Control of generator operating costs.
Ordering of spares and control of stock.

Experience/qualifications required:
The job holder needs to have extensive knowledge and experience of primarily electrical, but also mechanical and generators.
HNC/HND Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience of working with Landfill Gas is beneficial.
A sensible approach to Health & Safety, cost control, prioritising of tasks and supervision is also expected.
Additional training will be provided to the successful applicant.
