SOURCING COMMODITY MANAGER - IT

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading the strategic sourcing activities for a group of assigned categories by incorporating best practice strategic sourcing principles and practices.
Responsible for guiding and directing the business in sourcing initiatives and Demand Management. Lead and manage cross-functional teams to drive optimal value efficiencies including but not limited to: Cost Out, Cost Avoidance, Revenue Enhancement, etc.
Will serve as lead Sourcing liaison to the Information Technology Function.
Influence and impact in the LOB's budgetary planning process and forecast analysis.
Responsible for leading a component of the Supply Chain Management function requiring knowledge of commodity management and deployment throughout the organization.

Skills (MUST HAVE):
Experience in sourcing and commodity management related to one or more of the following: Hardware, Software, Network and Telecomm, Outside Data Processing, Web Hosting.

Bachelors Degree
- 5 or more years of sourcing experience

Skills (Preferred):
Experience with ARIBA sourcing and contract modules.
CPM or Six Sigma Certification a plus.

Bachelors degree and 10+ years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position. This position is responsible for managing multiple large or complex projects in accordance to the project approach, structure, and charter in order to support the successful implementation of new applications and systems based on business and customer objectives. Typically leads/mentors less experienced staff on complex projects in area of expertise. Ensures adherence to project management methodology and standards are in order to meet client business expectations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercises a leadership role, ensuring the completion of projects within defined time-lines, budget controls and quality standards. Develops planning and implementation methodologies, working with project team, external consultants, and vendors as necessary. Develops and manages the projects tasks and dependencies to ensure that development activities are consistent with established I.T. standards as well as those business objectives. Prepares management reports summarizing resource utilization as well as how project plans are performing against critical schedules and budgets. Assembles a project team, identifies appropriate resources needed and develops a schedule to ensure timely completion of project. Leads/mentors less experienced staff on complex projects in area of expertise. Complete appropriate forms/discussions addressing performance and development goals for all employees assigned to each project to give effective, meaningful feedback. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated project management experience in the direction of multiple large or complex projects from beginning through execution. Demonstrated proficiency managing projects that typically have enterprise-wide implications as well as a highly technical complexity. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining project information and status to management, staff, and vendors
