One of the largest federal government agencies is currently in search of a DB2 Database Administrator. You will responsible for the Build, test and implement approved work request and you will Work Closely with infrastructure team. You will be involved in performing Analysis of business requirements and come with a Logical/Physical Database Design. You will also be responsible for creating & Maintaining database instances in Test Environment and Installing & maintaining DB2 Database instances..

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • 4 years + Experience in working as DB2 DBA.
  • In depth knowledge & experience in performance tunning of database queries and stored procedures.
  • Highly experienced in DB2 database administration, tuning and support.
  • In depth knowledge & experience in tuning and QA for SQL in ETL Load and SQL libraries.
  • Monitor, analyse and operations of performance of SQL job, terminate rogues and address failures.
  • Experience in the review, refinement, recommendation on DATA DEFINITION LANGUAGE(DDL).
  • Experience in coding data load extracts.
    Maintain DB2 model in ERWIN
  • Create Database logical model by discussing and analysing business requirements.
  • Produce database performance reports and high light queries which are not performing and tune it.
  • Create and maintain data base schema in all test and prod instances.

This is a great opportunity to secure a long term contract, starting ASAP for an initial contract up until June 2012.
