We are a specialist recruitment company and our client is looking for a Forensic Social Worker who is GSCC registered and is able to demonstrate experience of working as a Forensic Social Worker and must have previous experience of staff supervision.
To carry a reduced social work caseload, which reflects the Senior Practitioner role, comprising of users detained within WLFS.
To provide professional supervision of Forensic Social Workers/ Forensic Mental Health Practitioners within WLFS, and to contribute to the formal appraisal process.
To give guidance and advice to colleagues within the Service regarding Local Authority statutory, policy and procedural responsibilities, e.g. Mental Health Act 1983, Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children, MAPPA and Appropriate Adult.
To take the lead on behalf of the Social Work Team in Clinical Governance for a particular area of the service.
To act as a RLA link to those users originating from the London Borough of Ealing who are placed in high secure or independent sector placements.
To be involved in development/project work within the service as assigned by the Team Manager.
ESSENTIALS:
QUALIFICATION
CQSW, Dip SW or Diploma in Probation Studies
EXPERIENCE:
Good knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to work with mentally disordered offenders.
Significant experience of working with forensic mental health clients in a hospital and community setting.
Experience of staff or student supervision
Knowledge of Safeguarding Children practice and procedures as they relate to work with mentally disordered offenders and their families and an ability to lead on such issues within the multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults practice and procedures and the ability to carry out appropriate investigations and to lead on such issues within the multidisciplinary team. To engage in the delivery of appropriate multi-disciplinary training across the CSU.
Good communication skills both verbal and written, an ability to produce clear and concise reports, and ability to coach Social Workers in these areas.
Good I.T. skills with knowledge of and experience in a wide range of programmes used for data collection purposes.
Ability to prioritise the workload in order to effectively balance the casework and management aspects of this post and in doing so the ability to demonstrate good organisational skills.
